The proposed new alignment largely crosses green space south of the junction building and north of the splash pad; the lower-pressure route terminates south of the splash pad and will allow future branching for any structures that need gas service without encountering the previous high-pressure constraints. Parks staff reviewed the alignment and reported no anticipated conflicts with foreseeable park uses. The committee approved the revised easement by voice vote.
WPS representatives were present to answer technical questions about pressure and service routing. Staff noted that permitted park uses such as parking and roads are allowable over easements under the proposed alignment, and that the revised route reduces interference with future park plans.
