Virginia announces it will co-host 2025 Pan-Continental World Curling Championships

Bridal Sober, Virginia Parks and Recreation director, told the City Council that Virginia and nearby Eveleth will host the 2025 Pan-Continental World Curling Championships this October.
Sober said the Iron Trail Motors Event Center will host the A bracket and the Curling Club in Eveleth will host the B bracket. The event, she said, was the result of long-term efforts by the local curling club, tourism bureau and other partners.
"This is a huge deal for our area. This is going to bring worldwide attention to us," Sober said during the council'meeting public comment period. She asked residents and councilors to attend and support related events when they take place.
The announcement was made during the public comment/appearances portion of the meeting and was presented as an informational update only; no council action was required.
