Council approves $955,905 change order for solar panels at public safety center

Councilors then voted to approve change order request No. 36 for solar panels in the amount of $955,905.15.
Councilors also approved additional change orders: No. 38 ($3,667.25) for overhead door control boxes; No. 41 (reported as $3,849.07 for case management outlets) and No. 42 ($2,742.86) for access control changes. Those items passed by voice vote with no recorded roll call in the meeting minutes.
Why it matters: The nearly $956,000 solar-panel change order is the single largest change order noted in the meeting record and will materially affect the project's budget and scope. City staff reported the project's overall budget remains "in good shape" in the update provided during the Committee of the Whole.
All change orders were approved after staff presentation and passed by voice vote.
