GAGE COUNTY — The Gage County Board of Supervisors on April 16 approved the meeting consent agenda, accepted routine monthly reports and approved a separate claim for gravel work that a board member disclosed involvement with.
The board voted 7 in favor to adopt the consent agenda, which included approval of minutes from the April 2, 2025 meeting; placing correspondence on file; support letters for BEAT funding; approving an RFP for a grant writer with proposal opening set for May 14, 2025 at 9:15 a.m.; and utility permit number 1327 for Windstream, Nebraska LLC to place fiber along South 20th Road in Attock Township. The consent motion also included placing the Odell Volunteer Fire and Rescue 2024 annual report and the Southeast 911 Communication Center report on file.
Separately the board considered claim number 25040259 from RLTIMAN Construction Inc. for $74,132.92 for gravel and spreading on two townships. The motion to approve the claim was moved and seconded; the board recorded “6 in favor” when the vote was taken and the motion carried. County staff said approving that claim brings the total claims paid to date to $757,487.39.
Members of the board noted during the claim discussion that the contractor is a company with which a board member is involved. The meeting record states the disclosure but does not show any further recusal or written conflict-of-interest finding in the minutes.
Other financial items listed during the meeting included routine vendor payments and departmental purchases noted by county finance staff, such as IT services and vehicle upfitting; the board placed those claims on the consent agenda and approved them by the consent vote.
The board also approved an amended special designated liquor license date for LT Investments LLC doing business as 402 Sports Bar and Grill for the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball with no other changes to the application. That motion carried 7 in favor.
