Board approves $67,009 in All Seasons Arena change orders; contingency remains

Blue Earth County approved three construction change orders April 22 for the All Seasons Arena totaling $67,009.36.
County staff reported the change orders include a Met Con change order for $11,338.88 for a photo eye, lighting and mezzanine structural improvements; a $40,000 change order to Rink Tech to address substructure aggregate under the rink floor discovered during flooring removal; and a $15,670.48 electrical change order to Laketown Electric for additional arena electrical work. Staff said those amounts leave a project contingency of roughly $169,000 remaining.
The All Seasons Arena Board previously approved the change orders; because the arena is a joint powers project, the partners also needed to approve them at their respective governing bodies. County staff said the costs will be divided among the three partners according to previously agreed percentages in the construction budget. The board moved and approved the change orders by voice vote.
