Lacey council on April 22 appointed members to the committees that will prepare the brief "for" and "against" statements that appear in voter pamphlets for the Metropolitan Park District (MPD) ballot measure.
Staff reported the auditor’s office requested formal committee designations and that six applicants applied to serve. Council appointed Cassandra Wyckoff and Charles Beck to the committee opposing the measure and Rachel Morata, Mark Brown and Wendy Goodwin to the committee supporting the measure. The appointments follow the city’s opportunity to name committees; if the city did not appoint committees, the county auditor would have conducted the appointment process.
City staff said they will notify the auditor’s office and that further communications with the committees will be handled by the auditor regarding timing and content for the voters’ pamphlet statements.
