Crosby ISD reports steady progress on high school addition; completion targeted for November 2025

District construction staff updated trustees April 21 on progress at the Crosby High School addition and other project areas tied to the high school expansion.

The campus addition is organized into three areas: Building A (classroom addition), Building B (career and technical addition) and a large-group instruction space (LGI) converted into two classrooms. The exterior masonry for Building A is complete and exterior metal panels are being installed; once panels are finished, site grading, sidewalks and an east-side canopy will proceed. For the CT (career and technical) addition, site work and forming for the service-yard driveway were scheduled to begin the week following the meeting to allow equipment access.

Inside the additions, contractors are installing overhead mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems including fire alarms and sprinkler devices. Corridor tile installation on the first floor has begun; once overhead fixtures and corridor tile are complete, flooring installation will follow. The LGI space in the existing building is being converted to two classrooms; work remaining there includes flooring, pending connection and activation of the new HVAC air handler so conditioned air is available for flooring work.

The presenter stated the project is on schedule and that the district expects to meet the stage-completion date of November 2025. No change orders or schedule delays were reported in the update provided to trustees.

Trustees asked follow-up questions about specific exterior and interior milestones; staff responded with sequencing and next steps for equipment access and building finishes. The board did not take action on the update; the report was informational.
