Weber County staff presented a proposed ticketing services agreement April 22 with Etix Inc. to supply point‑of‑sale hardware and online ticketing for the Golden Spike Event Center and the Paris Egyptian Theater, but the commission voted to hold the item for one week while IT completes a compatibility review.
Marty Smith, Culture, Parks and Recreation, said 10 proposals were received and a committee narrowed the field to three vendors; Etix was selected after scoring and oral presentations. Smith said the county’s current provider failed to submit a timely proposal and was therefore not considered. Staff said Etix would provide point‑of‑sale equipment (iPads, credit card readers) and that the system links to the vendor site for purchases. The county treasurer’s office, purchasing and legal have signed off on merchant‑account arrangements, Smith said.
Commissioners asked the county IT representative (Quinn) to confirm compatibility over the next few days. The commission moved and seconded to hold the item and schedule it for a decision the following week once IT reviews integration and security aspects.
