Boone County signs $397,700 construction agreement with Milestone Contractors for small-structure replacement

Boone County commissioners approved a $397,700 construction agreement with Milestone Contractors on April 21 to replace small structure EA-021 in Pine View subdivision, County Highway Superintendent Nick Parvin said.
Parvin told commissioners the project covers the small-structure replacement on Pine View Drive, north of 90 Sixth Street, and that the county awarded the work to the second-highest bidder after the apparent low bidder was found non-responsive. He said the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will reimburse 50 percent of eligible construction costs — $198,850 — once the county executes the agreement and submits the necessary forms to NDOT.
Commissioners moved to approve the agreement and authorized the county to execute the contract so construction can proceed to the next phase, Parvin said. The board approved the motion by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
