The Burnsville City Council approved an off‑sale 3.2% malt liquor license for Cub Store Holdings LLC doing business as Cub Foods at 1750 County Road 42 West during the April 22 meeting.
Deputy City Clerk Erica Henderson presented the application and told the council that the Burnsville Police Department conducted background checks on the principals and found no disqualifying information. Henderson said license issuance would be contingent on the certificate of occupancy, submission of required documents and payment of associated fees. "City code does require public hearing for all new liquor licenses," she said in her presentation.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing. Following the staff presentation the council moved, seconded and voted to approve the off‑sale 3.2 malt liquor license; the mayor declared the motion carried after members said "aye." The license will not be issued until the applicant provides required documentation and certificates to city staff.
The council recorded no delay or additional conditions beyond the standard contingencies at the meeting.
