Newly elected board members take oath as longtime member receives retirement tribute

Dr. Hein administered the oath of office to Woodstock, Donahue and Tashi in a brief ceremony during the meeting. Board members congratulated the new and returning members and asked staff to convey the board’s welcome to the newly sworn-in members who were not present at the table at that moment.
Board President and colleagues also recognized Dr. Sue Hyam on what the board described as her 17 years of service (the packet and remarks referenced service beginning in 2008). In prepared remarks the board credited Sue Hyam with steady leadership, work on human resources and finance committees, and described her service as ‘‘integrity, compassion, and purpose.’’ Dr. Hyam addressed the board, expressing gratitude, reflecting on improvements in academic and extracurricular programs, and saying she will miss serving the Sheboygan Area School District.
The board’s recognition was followed by applause and well-wishes; the retirement was included in the meeting record as an official recognition rather than an actionable personnel matter.
