The Three Rivers Local School District Board of Education on April 22 approved operational items that included renewing a cooperative agreement for school security services, approving salary schedules, and authorizing a bulk fuel purchase, while also reviewing several policy housekeeping changes.
The board approved renewal of a cooperative agreement with contractor Steve Macon for school security and safety services covering Aug. 11, 2025, through May 22, 2026. During remarks the superintendent thanked Macon and described the contract as providing broad on-site support; "he's here a lot, and he's here because he wants to," the superintendent said, noting Macon performs duties beyond the written contract.
Operational items approved as part of the meeting packet and omnibus motion included:
- Approval of the kitchen manager salary schedule for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years.
- Approval of the van driver salary schedule for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years.
- Authorization to purchase up to 3,000 gallons of bulk fuel from Premier Energy; the administration said estimated district usage typically ranges between 26,000 and 28,000 gallons and that the 3,000-gallon line in the packet represents a high-end per-need purchase and that fuel pricing was about 3 cents lower than the previous year.
- Review and approval of several policy housekeeping items, including updates to board meeting procedures (BD), fixed asset/inventory thresholds for federal funds (DID), programs for students with disabilities (IGBA — noting ODE operating standards), interdistrict enrollment (JECBB) clarifications for tuition-based attendance in certain cases, mandatory training language, and public records procedures.
At the meeting the vice president reported two donations to the district: $100 to the building fund from Fricker Grama LLP and $500 for the Core Grade Technology Scholarship from Amy and Darren Corektor; the board accepted the donations by voice vote.
All operational items were approved as presented through the omnibus motion accepting items a through n. The board asked administration to continue routine contract oversight and to return with any required implementation or reporting items.
