The Collier County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution April 22 expressing support for the governor's EOG (Executive Office of the Governor) 'Doge' team effort to identify efficiencies and reduce wasteful spending. The resolution also names the county manager (or designee) as the county liaison and directs the manager to transmit the resolution to the governor's office.
Commissioner Hall introduced the item, saying the county "has been doing Doge when Doge wasn't cool," and asked that the board formally commit to collaborate and provide regular updates. Commissioners added language to allow the county manager or a designee to serve as the county's point of contact. The board voted unanimously to adopt the resolution and appoint the county manager as liaison.
