Commission approves appointment, funds trail markers; minutes amended

The Merrimack Conservation Commission unanimously appointed Steve Desilets as an alternate member of the Greater Woods subcommittee and approved up to $375 to buy trail markers, the commission said Monday night.
The appointment of Steve Desilets, to a term expiring June 30, 2026, and the purchase authorization for trail markers were both approved by voice votes. The commission also approved amended minutes of its March 24 meeting.
Commissioners moved the appointment of Desilets after brief introductions and a statement from Desilets that he previously served on the Greater Woods subcommittee (2013–2020) and planned to help maintain trails and public access. The motion passed 7–0–0. The commission recorded that Desilets provided a street address (2663 Jessica Drive) for the record.
Separately, the commission voted to appropriate a sum not to exceed $375 from Fund 53 to purchase red trail markers and associated nails. Commissioners noted the commission has ample markers in other colors but needed additional red markers for several long, serpentine bicycle trails. That motion passed 7–0–0.
The commission approved the minutes of its April 14 meeting, as amended, by a vote recorded as 6–0–1. The meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
The votes will be reflected in the commission’s minutes and carried forward to community development staff for any procurement or administrative follow-up.
