Board approves ISBE consolidated district plan for federal entitlement grants

The Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 board voted to approve the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) consolidated district plan, which outlines goals and how the district will use federal entitlement grants (Title I, II, III, IV and IDEA preschool and flow-through funding).
Matt (staff) told the board the consolidated plan communicates the district’s objectives and spending priorities to ISBE and will permit the district to begin writing grant applications once ISBE releases specific funding allocations. “I’m seeking your approval tonight so that I can submit it to the Illinois State Board of Education tomorrow and as soon as they release the funding allocations, we can start writing the actual grants themselves,” Matt said.
Board members voted by roll call to approve the plan. The approval lets district administrators proceed with grant drafting and later allocations once ISBE announces amounts.
