The Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 board voted to set a public hearing for May 12 at Lyon School on a proposed interfund transfer from the Education Fund to Operations & Maintenance (Resolution 25027). The board also approved a related resolution to review moving funds from O&M to Capital Projects (Resolution 25028).
District staff reviewed the two transfer proposals, explaining the first resolution sets the hearing date and provides the public an opportunity to comment. The second resolution is a review step: staff will ask the board to vote on the transfers at the May 12 meeting after the public hearing. Eric Miller said the transfers are possible because the district maintains a higher-than-required fund balance in the Education Fund, which allows the planned moves for capital and project-related expenses.
Board members asked clarifying questions about timing and the linkage between the Ed-to-O&M transfer and the later O&M-to-capital transfer; staff confirmed both items will return to the board for formal vote and public comment on May 12. Both motions passed by roll call.
