The Waupaca Common Council held its annual organizational meeting April 15 and completed oath‑taking for newly elected or reelected alderpersons before conducting officer elections and confirming appointments to city boards and commissions.
The council swore in Corey Nagel, Paul Hagen, Scott Perchatsky, Dimitri Martin and Colin Dykstra (Dykstra was not present for the oath). After roll call confirmed a quorum, the council opened nominations for council president and elected Paul Mayo to a one‑year term by voice vote.
The mayor then presented a long list of appointments to boards and commissions and asked the council to approve them as a package. The council approved the mayor’s recommendations in a single voice vote. Appointees named in the packet include members and alternates for the City Planning Commission, Airport Board, Board of Appeals, Library Board, Parks and Recreation Board, Police and Fire Commission, Community Development Authority, Recycling District, Historic Preservation Commission, Water and Sewer Utility Board, Inland Waters Committee and many youth and advisory positions.
The meeting record shows the council followed its usual organizational routine: motion to approve the organizational agenda, election of officers, confirmation of appointments and adjournment of the organizational meeting before starting the regular council session.
The organizational meeting set the council leadership and staffing for the next year and placed the listed members on the city’s various advisory and decision‑making bodies. Details on each appointment were provided in the packet distributed to council members and are part of the public record.
