The Round Lake Beach Board of Trustees on April 21 approved a consent agenda and a set of ordinances and resolutions covering contracts, property sales and several infrastructure actions. Most items were approved by roll call with recorded ayes and no nays.
Votes at a glance (motions approved):
- Consent agenda (unanimous roll call): included approval of meeting minutes (03/17/2025); expenditures totaling $1,124,630.59; extension of an agreement with USA Management for lifeguard services; contract with Integrated Lakes Management for natural areas maintenance; waiver of competitive bids and approval of a proposal to install a water distribution sampling station; purchase of sign materials from High Star Traffic; declaration of certain vehicles/equipment as surplus; contract with Clark Mosquito Management Inc.; authorization to proceed with an IDOT joint funding agreement for federally funded construction for the Hook Drive extension; and authorization of an IDOT local public agency engineering service agreement with Gewalt Hamilton Associates for the Hook Drive extension. (Consent items recorded in meeting agenda and all approved.)
- Ordinance approving acquisition of property and a temporary construction easement for 1801 N. Nicole Lane and 2 E. Rollins Road (Hook Drive Extension project): approved as part of consent agenda.
- Sale of village property at 1519 & 1521 Kenmore Avenue: ordinance approved to sell a consolidated double lot for $25,000; buyer will be permitted to use the consolidated lot for one single‑family home only.
- Sale of village property at 1427 Maple Drive: ordinance approved to sell the lot for $5,000; purchaser (owner of the adjacent lot) may consolidate parcels but may not build a separate dwelling or add a secondary driveway on the purchased parcel.
- Ordinance authorizing borrowing from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Public Water Supply Loan Program: the village approved taking on loan proceeds of $2,830,450 with total project expenses stated at $3,125,000 to fund water‑system replacement work on the south side of Rollins Road and related streets (project paperwork to be completed with IEPA/State Revolving Fund requirements before work begins).
Other notes: The Hook Drive extension work and associated engineering/IDOT agreements and the acquisition of easements are part of the village’s listed capital projects and were included on the consent agenda. Several of the consent items waive competitive bidding or award professional contracts; the meeting record did not show extended debate on those items.
Roll calls recorded ayes from trustees present on each vote; recorded motions were carried as announced by the mayor.
