Hiring authority: The board considered and approved a temporary delegation that allows the superintendent to employ classroom teachers and staff during the April–August hiring window to avoid losing candidates to other districts. Board member Terry moved the delegation resolution and Krista seconded. The motion carried with the board’s approval.
Board action on FTEs: Board member Kristen moved to approve the updated FTE list and Simone seconded; the board approved the request and the district staff said funding had been identified for most of the positions.
Ending: District officials said they will bring a final balanced budget to the board in June after the legislative budget is finalized and that any HB2 funding adjustments from the Senate or conference committee will be brought back for board consideration.
