The recognitions highlighted state- and regional-level advancement in University Interscholastic League (UIL) events, district championships in athletics, regional visual-arts medals and choir sweepstakes awards that school officials said reflect broad participation and preparation across the district.
Speech and debate coach Stephen Bell told the board the Lake Dallas High School debate team won the district cross-examination championship and placed first, second and third at district. He said two teams — Ruby and Isabella — advanced to the 4A state tournament and reached the quarterfinal round.
