Becky (last name not provided), speaking for Peoria County animal services/PCAPS, reported two upcoming public events: participation in the national BISSELL Clear the Shelters adoption drive from May 1 through May 15 and a low-cost rabies vaccination and microchip clinic on May 13 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Peoria Humane Society building.
Becky said the BISSELL program waives or reduces adoption fees; the county plans to set adoption fees between $0 and $50 during the event and will likely keep fees at $50 depending on shelter population. The rabies and microchip clinic will be first-come, first-served; staff said these clinics are quick and typically held about twice a year.
No board action was requested; the presentation was informational.
