County legal counsel Jeff Cockrell prepared the resolution for the commissioners’ office. The resolution states the vehicle will be donated "as is," that the commissioners make no warranty as to its functionality for any purpose unless the commissioners or the county administrator provide written agreement, and that the department must return the vehicle and title to the commissioners by January 2026 unless a different date is agreed in writing.
Commissioner Lynette Hillroom moved the resolution. Commissioner Madera voted in favor; Commissioner Jones was absent. No public comment was recorded on the donation.
During discussion the board asked how the January 2026 return date was chosen. County legal said the original idea was to have the vehicle through 2025 and that the county is scheduled to review the Bean Blossom fire district structure by the end of the year; the January 2026 date was presented in the draft resolution to align with that review. No amendment to the return date was made during the meeting.
