During a building inspection, committee members identified damage to sidewalk squares on the courthouse north approach caused during earlier roof work and equipment removal. The roofing contractor acknowledged damage and agreed to repair two squares; the contractor’s quoted concrete mix (ProVantage/ProMark) left a shortfall if the county wanted all damaged squares matched with the same product.
Committee members recommended repairing all of the affected squares so the concrete finish would match along the approach. The committee approved allocating $3,040 from ARPA toward the sidewalk repairs to cover the shortfall and to allow a single pour for aesthetic and durability reasons. Committee members said the ARPA reallocation is an authorized use because the childcare contract break met a reallocation exception and the work must be completed by the ARPA spending deadline.
Committee discussion also covered the remaining $8,360 of the returned ARPA funds. Members discussed using that money toward flooring (capital improvement line) and to help close a shortfall on a security-camera project, but committee members stopped short of a formal transfer at the meeting and recommended applying ARPA to applicable invoices as they arrive. Committee staff reminded members ARPA funds must be spent by 2026.
Other small operational approvals recorded at the meeting included a $566.32 payment to the County Highway Department for work done at the health department and a previously authorized $3,750 invoice for first‑floor window replacement (Dan’s Glass); both payments were approved by committee vote.
