GREENE COUNTY, Ohio — The Greene County Board of Commissioners on April 17 approved a series of routine and project-focused items including authorization to advertise for bids on a bridge replacement, entry into a county paving contract, acceptance of a subdivision record plat and several proclamations and resolutions.
The board authorized the county engineer to advertise for bids on the Brown Road bridge replacement, with advertisements scheduled for April 22 and April 29, 2025. The project is funded with Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) money, the commissioners said.
The board also authorized entering into a contract with John R. Jurgensen Company for the county—s 2025 collective paving bid. The county awarded the collective paving bid the prior week and moved at the April 17 meeting to sign the contract.
Commissioners accepted the subdivider—s performance bonds and signed the record plat for River Reserve Section 5. The board described the performance bond as 25% for sanitary sewer, water lines, streets and storm infrastructure; a percentage bond for sidewalks and survey markers was referenced but not specified in the meeting record.
The board approved a letter of support for an expansion of Wright State University—s STEM training facility to accompany a request for possible earmarked funding from U.S. Rep. Michael Turner. Commissioners said the project had not requested county PDAC funding in the most recent cycle.
