The resolution recognized Cutsforth’s lifetime ties to Canby, his role running the family grocery business Cutsforth’s Market, his decades of civic involvement and community events he founded, including the Cutsforth’s Cruisin’ car show.
Representative Drazen read the resolution on the floor and described Cutsforth as “a man of strong faith and integrity” who “gave his time, his energy, his heart to those he loved and the place he called home.” Representative McLean, who also spoke, recalled Cutsforth’s role as an everyday, local presence who welcomed neighbors at the market.
Members voted to adopt HCR 33 after brief discussion; the House president noted the resolution had received the required majority and declared it adopted. The family and friends of Cutsforth were recognized in the gallery during the proceedings.
