Secretary Rubio meets foreign leaders to discuss migration, regional security and trade

At the State Department Rubio met with Jordanian Prime Minister and Defense Minister Jafar Hassan, discussing what the department described as Jordans critical role in advancing regional security, stability and prosperity. The staff member said the officials discussed security cooperation and the countrys contributions to regional stability.
Rubio also spoke with Indonesian Foreign Minister Suga Ona about a "free and open Indo-Pacific," trade relationships and "freedom of migration in the South China Sea," according to the department summary.
Overseas, the staff member said Rubio and Ambassador Stephen Witkoff traveled to Paris for talks with French and U.K. counterparts aimed at advancing President Trumps goal to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and "stop the bloodshed," as characterized in the department remarks. The department summary said diplomats are supporting the secretary and other leadership to advance shared interests at home and abroad.
