The Village Board on April 15 awarded the Glory Road culvert replacement contract to Advanced Construction for the low bid of $463,763.
Public works staff said five prequalified bids were opened and ranged from $463,763 to $557,000; the project budget was $575,000. Staff recommended awarding the contract to Advanced Construction, the same contractor that staff said completed satisfactory work on Timber Street the previous year.
A board member moved and seconded the award; a voice vote carried with the motion approved. Staff said the culvert is in very poor condition and should be replaced this year to keep the road in service.
Why it matters: Replacing the failing culvert addresses a near-term infrastructure need and keeps a village street open to traffic. The award stays within the project budget, according to staff.
