The Auburn School Committee approved several operational and financial items in a single block of business, including an updated site-manager job description, an amended fiscal-year 2025 capital-improvement plan and the committee's 2025–26 meeting dates. The committee also voted not to hold a separate School Committee meeting immediately before the town's annual meeting on May 6.
Site managers and facilities use The business manager presented an updated site-manager job description that modernizes responsibilities for staff who supervise buildings and fields during community use. The description removes an obsolete time-clock reference and adds business-office oversight. The committee voted to approve the updated job description and to post openings to expand the district's pool of site managers; the motion passed by voice vote.
Capital-improvement amendment Administrators asked the committee to approve an amended FY2025 CIP that returns $75,000 previously requested for the Bryn Mar building rehabilitation so the district can reallocate or delay purchase of a k–8 math curriculum. The committee approved the amended CIP as presented.
Meeting dates and pre-town-meeting decision The committee approved the proposed 2025–26 meeting calendar, adjusted for the Massachusetts Association of School Committees conference in November. The committee also voted not to hold a short meeting immediately before the annual town meeting on May 6; the committee nominated a representative to attend the town meeting in their stead and confirmed the town meeting time.
Other business The committee received a year-to-date budget report dated April 10 and heard that no budget transfers were required at this time. Committee members discussed training and retraining for site managers and clarifying which outdoor restrooms should be unlocked for events that do not provide building access.
