The Center Grove Community School Corporation Board of Trustees voted to approve the district’s organizational plan, a statutorily required recertification tied to the decennial census.
Doctor Long told trustees that Indiana Code requires school boards to reapportion or recertify their organizational plan no later than Dec. 31 of the year following the decennial census and that the statutory deadline for the district to complete this recertification is June 30, 2025. He said the county clerk had issued a reminder about the deadline and warned that, if a board fails to recertify by the date, members are not entitled to receive salary or fees until recertification occurs.
Doctor Long explained that because the Center Grove board consists entirely of at‑large members, there was no need to redraw electoral districts or change boundaries; the document presented formalizes the existing organization and officers. “This is really just a technicality,” a trustee said during the discussion.
Board action and vote
Mr. Russell moved to approve the organizational plan “as presented.” The motion received a second and the board approved the plan by voice vote; the chair declared the ayes have it and the recertification was adopted.
Taper: administration filed the organizational plan to meet the Indiana Code deadline; no additional board actions were required at this meeting.
