Committee approves expenditures, donations, budget amendments and personnel actions

Day Memorial Scholarship Fund and $3,367 from Mark and Alisa Saab for student activities), and two donated 3D printers from a local vendor (estimated value $1,200 each). The committee approved budget transfers to reallocate department savings into new programs and instructional equipment.
Business staff asked the committee to increase the FY26 budget by $425,000 using the district’s certified excess and deficiency balance. The committee approved the FY26 amendment; the business manager said the change will not alter member-community assessments and noted the district’s certified reserve is just under the statutory cap.
The committee approved the proposed 2025–26 school committee meeting schedule with a single date adjustment discussed during the meeting. The committee voted to renew the district treasurer’s one-year contract to include a 4% cost-of-living increase, and later approved a 4% salary increase for a set of noncontractual administrators and staff as listed on the agenda.
Other routine actions included a motion to enter executive session under M.G.L. c.30A, §21(a)(2) for nonunion personnel negotiations and a motion to adjourn; both were approved by roll call.
