During the April 17 meeting, the borough manager delivered the mayor’s report, saying three full-time police officers were sworn in and began active duty on March 11. The manager reported that those hires bring the Yeadon Police Department to 20 full-time officers and one part-time officer, Norman Rowland. The manager also said the borough expects a future vacancy when an officer retires in August.
The mayor’s office also announced an Earth Day cleanup and tree-planting event on Saturday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to noon. Organizers said volunteers should meet at West Cobbs Creek Parkway and Parmley Avenue; the borough will supply many cleanup materials but asked volunteers to bring their own if possible. The manager credited Borough Council Vice Chair Liana Rowclout for spearheading the event and directed residents to yadenborough.com and info@yadenborough.com for details.
The manager said the mayor held a quarterly citizens forum on Feb. 27 and that the next forum is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2025. No formal council action was required on the staffing announcement or the Earth Day event; both were delivered as informational reports.
