After interviewing seven applicants for a vacant city council seat, the Woodland Park City Council appointed Seth Bryant by unanimous vote on April 17.
The council used a paper-ballot process laid out by the mayor. After the first round of voting, councilors' first-choice ballots showed four votes for Bryant and therefore a clear majority. "We have a winner," the clerk announced, and Councilor Jeffrey Gere moved to appoint Bryant. The motion was seconded and carried on a unanimous roll call.
Seth Bryant took the oath of office during the meeting and was seated next to Council member Smith for the remainder of the session. Bryant thanked the council and pledged to serve the community.
The council interviewed seven candidates earlier that evening and acknowledged the strength of the applicant pool while encouraging other residents to apply for boards, commissions and future elections.
