Lake Travis ISD Fine Arts Director Shannon Gill presented a summary of recent achievements across the district’s music, orchestra, band, theater, dance and visual arts programs.
Gill said 58% of fine‑arts teachers have 10+ years’ experience and that 73% of secondary students participate in a fine‑art. Highlights included the Cavalier Marching Band’s repeated UIL 6A state marching qualifiers, LTMS Orchestra’s Music for All selection, a collaborative performance with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, choir superior ratings, and multiple student visual‑arts wins (regional and national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and youth art displays). District elementary student art was on display at a local gallery through the end of the month, Gill said.
Trustees praised the programs and attendees from multiple campuses joined the meeting for recognition.
Ending: Directors and trustees encouraged the community to attend upcoming spring fine‑arts events and noted the district calendar lists ticketed performances.
