Nelson Jah, speaking for the Goose Prairie Solar project, reported recurring inverter problems and a rack system failure that temporarily took roughly 1 megawatt of modules offline.
"We did have some issues with our inverters again. There's a continuation from previous month, but SunGrow is expected to install a new firmware at our sites this month," Jah said. He reported a rack system that held modules failed and "allowed some of the modules to detach and break through the post. So that caused about 1 megawatt worth of modules to go down, but it has since been resolved." Jah also said the site's lead technician, Carson Stewart, was promoted to operations manager and that his contact information was provided to the council.
Jah did not report any other nonroutine environmental or operational updates. The council noted the operator had provided the incident details in the packet and thanked Jah for the update.
Why it matters: A 1 MW outage from structural failure is a material operational event for a utility‑scale solar site; equipment firmware updates and structural repairs are the immediate remedies described by the operator.
