El Paso County Commissioners Court on Monday adopted three resolutions recognizing local achievements and observances.

The court honored Roger Argenes, a Grammy‑winning producer and founder of SoundStage 9, for his decade of arts education and mentorship in the El Paso–Juárez region. County officials read a resolution praising Argenes’s work developing young musicians; Argenes spoke briefly to thank his family, staff and students and said the recognition ‘‘means more to me than I can ever put into words.’’ The court approved the resolution on a motion by County Judge Samaniego, seconded by Commissioner Stout; Commissioner Coronado was recorded absent.

The court also approved a resolution recognizing April 13–19 as Public Safety Telecommunications Week in El Paso County, honoring 9‑1‑1 dispatchers and communications professionals. Commissioner Butler moved the resolution and Judge Samaniego seconded it. Sheriff Fugate and Leila Melendez, the sheriff’s communications manager, joined the court to accept the proclamation and thanked dispatch staff for their work.

Finally, the court commended the America's High School Advanced Coed Competition cheerleading team after the squad won first place at a national America's Cup competition in Orlando. Emil Chaparro, the school’s fine arts department chair and assistant coach, and students and parents attended. The court read the resolution citing the team’s 3.5 combined GPA (presented by the team as a combined GPA; the coach later said it had recently risen to 3.8) and motioned to adopt the commendation; the motion carried.
