Twinsburg board outlines updated Tiger Legacy Project plan, schedules community tours

Mrs. Crawford, speaking at the Twinsburg Board of Education meeting on April 16, summarized an updated plan for the Tiger Legacy Project and invited community members to two public information sessions on April 22.
The updated proposal calls for a new Pre-K through grade 6 elementary school intended to replace three aging buildings, reorganize grade "houses" (Pre-K/K; 1–2; 3–4; 5–6), consolidate shared spaces by schedule and provide upgraded security measures. Mrs. Crawford said the district had revised the project after public feedback to address traffic, parking and environmental concerns at the Dodge campus and to reduce long-term maintenance costs.
The district plans to use a master schedule to limit crowding in common areas such as the cafeteria, art and music rooms and gym; the project also includes upgraded controlled entry points and security technology and continued supervision by school resource officers and staff. Mrs. Crawford said athletic-facility work is included, with some facilities being relocated to optimize space and reduce maintenance expenses.
The board previously approved construction of a 1,039-foot access road on Chamberlain Drive and a dedicated bus exit on Chamberlain Trail, measures the district says will separate car and bus traffic and improve safety. Mrs. Crawford said the estimated tax impact of the proposed bond would be about $135 per year for a home appraised at $100,000.
The district is hosting two information sessions on Tuesday, April 22: a 9:30 a.m. meeting at the Twinsburg Community Center and a 6:30 p.m. session in the large-group room at Twinsburg High School (the evening session will be livestreamed). Child care for school-age children will be provided at the evening session by Twinsburg High School volunteers.
"Your voice does matter and we hope to see you there as we continue to build a better future together," Mrs. Crawford said, inviting residents to review project plans and ask questions in person.
