Davis County School District: Clearfield CTE building due June 2026; three schools on track to open August 2025

Davis County School District officials provided an update on bond-funded construction at Clearfield High and elsewhere in the district, saying the Clearfield career and technical education building is expected to be completed in June 2026 and that several other schools are on schedule to open for the August 2025 school year.
District officials said the work is part of the voter-approved 2022 bond program and includes replacement of long-standing facilities, new CTE space, and additions for performing arts and science classrooms. The projects will affect students and staff across multiple attendance areas in the county.
"My name is Weston Weeks. I'm the facilities administrator for Davis School District. Behind me today, you'll see the CTE building for Clearfield High going in. This project is 1 of the last few on the 2022 bond, along with some other exciting projects happening here in the Davis School District," said Weston Weeks, facilities administrator for Davis County School District.
Brian Turner, director of architectural services for Davis County School District, said the Clearfield building will consolidate CTE programs. "This project gathers all the CTE programs and we're consolidating them all into 1 single building. So we have new spaces for the welding shop, auto shop, building trades, engineering, culinary arts, health sciences, and the building will be completed about June of 20 26," Turner said.
Turner and Weeks listed other bond projects and their status:
- Horizon Junior High (West Point): classroom wings and gym near completion; expected to open for the 2025 school year. - Sunset Junior High: full rebuild underway; classroom wings are complete and contractors are finishing interior work to allow the existing students to move into the new building before demolition of the old one. - Bountiful Elementary: replacement school built immediately west of the original site; the existing school was constructed in 1949 and is the district's oldest continuously operated school. The new Bountiful Elementary is expected to open August 2025. - Bountiful High School: a new CTE building has started construction, similar in scope to the Clearfield CTE project. - Syracuse Elementary (referred to as "Elementary 2" in project documents): a new elementary school is under construction. - Clinton Elementary: addition and remodel work in progress. - Layton High School: an addition and remodel will add CTE spaces, a small theater for performing arts, culinary arts facilities, science room remodels, and additional general classrooms. - Kaysville Junior High: a new gymnasium is in the design phase. - Bayview Elementary and Burton Elementary: addition/remodel projects are in the design phase.
Turner described the Bountiful site as "a very tight site" for the new elementary school and thanked contractors, architects and engineers for their work. Weeks closed by thanking voters who approved the 2022 bond: "We would like to thank the voters of the 2022 bond. These projects couldn't be possible without your support."
