The approvals matter because they clear the way for multiple large public events at town parks during the summer season and, in one case, trigger additional licensing and public‑notice steps. Dina Weatherly, cultural affairs and special events coordinator for the Department of Culture and Tourism, presented the permit requests and described schedules, attendance caps and logistics for each event.
