Tompkins County committee OKs three-year renewal for on-site Genoa pharmacy

Tompkins County's Facilities and Infrastructure Committee on Tuesday voted unanimously to renew an on-site pharmacy lease with Genoa Health Care LLC at the Mental Health Services building.

The resolution (ID 13232) would authorize a three-year extension of the existing pharmacy lease so Genoa can continue to operate on site and provide medication services to clients of county behavioral-health programs.

Committee members said county attorneys are drafting the new lease. Ross, participating remotely, told the panel the pharmacy has been operating at the Mental Health Services building "for several years" and that the renewal would extend the lease for "an additional 3 year term." Norma from county administration said the county worked with the assessment office to set a per-square-foot rate and to charge a market-rate fee for a parking space.

Committee Chair (unnamed) called for a vote after brief questions; the motion, moved by Legislator Greg Mazzi and seconded by Legislator Randy Brown, passed unanimously among members present.

The county did not provide the precise dollar amounts of rent or parking fees during the meeting; committee members said the county attorney's office is finalizing lease language and that the lease will reflect market rates.

County staff said the pharmacy serves clients in county programs but did not provide a breakdown of client groups or a projected revenue impact of the renewal. The committee recorded no conditions on the renewal beyond normal contract review and execution by the county attorney.

The committee approved the renewal without further amendments; staff said the finalized lease will be brought forward for execution once the county attorney completes the drafting.
