Committee plans revamp and recruitment as student ambassador prepares to graduate

The Corte Madera Climate Action Committee discussed recruiting and revising its Student Ambassador program after the current ambassador, Sydney, prepares to graduate from high school.
Committee member Dee Alexander volunteered to lead a review of the program’s role description and to meet with Sydney and other youth participants to gather feedback on what has worked and what could be improved. The committee said it will aim to complete a refreshed role description and begin recruitment before the end of the school year.

Program details and next steps The committee currently includes one student ambassador, one youth committee member and one alternate; the original program allowed one to two ambassadors, and committee members noted it could be expanded if there is interest. Dee Alexander said she will meet with Sydney and solicit input from other youth members on the committee to draft a revised role description. The goal is to present a proposed description for committee review at the next meeting and to start recruitment by the end of the school year.
No formal vote was taken. Interested committee members were invited to join the review; members were asked to contact staff member Sarah (or staff liaison) if they want to participate.
