Abbott and other board members asked whether smaller residential disposals would be prorated and urged consideration of a per-tire residential charge (for example, a flat $5 per tire) to avoid the burden of bringing small numbers of tires to a scale designed for commercial loads.
County staff clarified the advertised schedule and the existing allowance for a small number of residential tires accepted free of charge before the per-ton commercial scale applies. The board moved to adopt the advertised fee schedule; supervisors voted in favor and the motion passed.
