Revere Public Schools conducted nine middle‑school lotteries this evening to assign rising sixth‑graders to Rumney Marsh Academy (RMA), Susan B. Anthony (SBA) and Garfield Middle School.
A school administrator opened the session and said staff recognize the process is stressful for fifth graders and their families, and added, “I can assure you, it brings us no joy either.” The district said school staff will be available in elementary schools and by phone the next day and next week to support families and that letters with each student’s placement will be mailed after the lottery.
Todd Jurczyk, CPA of CBIZ CPAs, PC conducted the drawings with Dr. Danielle Mokaba, who the administrator thanked “for her coordination on this project.” Jurczyk read student names, placed cards in the drum and drew cards in groups until each lottery concluded.
