County reports progress on transportation sustainability, intersection safety and rolling plans

WASHINGTON COUNTY — County highway staff updated the Public Works Committee on three related planning efforts: transportation network sustainability plans for municipalities, an intersection safety analysis that is moving into local-plan development, and ongoing production of rolling plans now that the county plan is complete.
Josh Schulman (staff member) briefed the committee on the transportation network sustainability work. Staff reported three municipal sustainability plans are finished (Farmington and the City of West Bend are complete, and the City of Hartford is awaiting final local approval). The presentation noted progress depends on municipal schedules and local approvals, and staff will continue coordination as schedules align.
The committee heard the intersection safety analysis has completed a second draft and staff will prioritize local plan creation in response to municipal interest. Rolling plans tied to the county transportation plan will be produced as requests come in and as local prioritization occurs.
Committee members asked clarifying questions and were offered follow-up information in the agenda packet. No formal action was taken; staff will continue coordination with municipalities and return with updates as local approvals advance.
