The board approved a new job description for a speech‑language pathologist (SLP). District presenters said this role requires specialized training and that the position had not previously had a distinct job description under district personnel documents.

Administrators noted SLPs have a unique credentialing and qualification process separate from general teacher roles and said an accurate job description is needed to support hiring. A board motion to approve the SLP job description passed unanimously.

Staff said the district is actively recruiting for the position.
