The Sudden Valley Community Association Finance Committee recommended that the General Manager execute a contract with Specialized Pavement Marking LLC for center-line painting on the community’s main roads for $18,223.91.
Committee members said the overall project had been bid to four companies, produced two responsive bids and that prior board approvals already covered construction management and signage, so the committee’s action was limited to the painting contract. Committee discussion clarified that a 10% contingency had been included in the project accounting and that the committee would recommend the contract specifically for the $18,223.91 painting amount.
Committee members said the packet contained some confusing language about totals and asked staff to ensure the board packet shows the painting line and the separate contingency amount clearly. Joel (Finance staff) explained the previously approved items were already accounted for and that the motion before the committee authorized the General Manager to execute the painting contract only.
The committee voted to forward the recommendation that the General Manager execute the SVCA standard construction contract with Specialized Pavement Marking LLC in the amount of $18,223.91 for center-line painting on primary roads. The motion carried.
The matter will be taken to the board of directors for final authorization; committee members asked staff to make the contingency figure explicit in the board packet so the board record shows both the contracted painting amount and the 10% contingency authorized in project accounting.
