Jeff Williams, a 30-year resident and public commenter, urged Peachtree City Council to consider development of a large indoor/outdoor pickleball complex, saying such a facility could draw players from a multi-county area, increase local spending and produce tournament revenue.
Williams said he reviewed data from nearby municipalities and proposed an 18-to-24-court facility that could host roughly 250 players per day, about 40% of whom he projected would come from outside the city. He told the council that out-of-town visitors would likely spend on gas, meals, retail and hotel rooms. Williams also pointed to tournament revenue, estimating conservatively that three tournaments a year could attract 450 participants each, with about 60% coming from outside the city, producing both direct registration revenue and hotel-night stays.
Using his projections, Williams presented annualized figures for local spending and a tournament-related revenue estimate; he framed the proposal as a private-sector and city opportunity to increase tourism and sales for local businesses.
Council did not take formal action on the pitch during the meeting. Several councilors and staff later discussed local sports projects in the context of capital priorities; no specific feasibility study or funding commitment was announced during the meeting.
