County staff said FEMA initially asked to use the AG Center, but staff showed FEMA representatives the Oak Street building as an alternative; FEMA agreed it would suffice for the planned one‑day outreach. Staff described the visit as an assessment to determine housing needs and to provide a place where community members could seek assistance if needed.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the one‑day lease agreement and voted to authorize the use of the building for that date. County staff noted the event is intended only for one day and that the outreach is an information/assessment activity; if FEMA later identifies a need for housing assistance, that would be a separate follow‑up matter.
