Albany County receives Cigna Healthy Workforce gold award; HR recognized

Albany County government received a Cigna Healthy Workforce gold award during the April 15 Board of Commissioners meeting, and the county's human resources staff were recognized for employee wellness efforts.
Anissa (Albany County HR) introduced Catrine Lewis of Cigna, who presented the award and described why Albany County was nominated. Catrine (Cigna) said the county was nominated after multiple years of wellness initiatives focused on mental, social and physical well-being and credited the HR team for outreach such as biometric screenings and regular wellness communications.
Catrine said the award is selective and noted that in the Mountain States region (Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico) 136 clients were considered for the award; among those, she reported, 64 earned gold, 36 silver and 28 bronze. "So again, super proud of the Albany County team as a whole," she said. She encouraged the county to publicize the recognition through local media, chambers of commerce and social media.
The commissioners and staff welcomed the recognition and Catrine offered to deliver the physical trophy when it was completed in Denver.
The presentation did not require board action; the recognition reflects Cigna's client awards program rather than a county policy decision.
