Commission to pay Greene County Sewer District invoices for Prometheus study; meeting schedule moved to fourth Thursday

The Greene County Redevelopment Commission approved paying invoices for preliminary sewer design task orders related to the Prometheus project and changed its regular meeting date.

Sewer funding: The commission approved a request to advance funding to the Greene County Sewer District so the district’s engineering firm can complete preliminary studies to serve Prometheus, a county official said. The engineering firm’s president had indicated task orders would be capped at $20,000. Commissioners agreed to pay the sewer district’s invoices directly as the district completes task orders rather than transferring cash up front.

Ken made the motion to pay invoices for task orders related to upcoming design and budget estimates for Prometheus; Joshua seconded the motion and commissioners approved it by voice vote. Chair said the commission will write up the payment arrangement and requested copies of related items.

Meeting schedule: Commissioners also voted to move regular commission meetings to the fourth Thursday of each month at 8:30 a.m., beginning with the May meeting on May 2, 2025. The motion was made and seconded during the meeting and passed by voice vote. Commissioners said the change is intended to reduce scheduling conflicts for members who work in Bloomington and to minimize overlap with other local entities’ meetings.

Other routine business: The commission approved minutes from the March 20 meeting at the start of the session and adjourned following the regular agenda.
