Parks staff reported to the Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety on April 16, 2025 that a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Spencer Park lower pavilion and new boat ramp is scheduled at 11 a.m. the day after the meeting, and that crews will remove and store the park fountain while the city determines a permanent site and cost.
Staff said most restrooms are open except at Fairview where water-pipe repairs were ongoing, and that the clubhouse at the golf course will be demolished in May with temporary arrangements (trailers or cart barns) planned so play can continue during construction. Staff said the clubhouse will likely be functionally usable for the Chamber outing, though some fixtures (simulator, signage, wall art) may not be complete.
Parks staff reported the arrival of an ADA-compliant sponge pad for Iron Horse Park and ongoing utility work for electricity. The department is sending eight maintenance staff to training at the IPRA maintenance expo; staff noted the upcoming six-week construction period will be a busy time.
The board voted to approve the Parks Department monthly report on a recorded roll call.
